Mannequin Flowers

The Story

In the red room, the flowers bend backwards.

We make music in the space where dream-pop beauty starts to fracture. Drawing from shoegaze, dream pop and post-punk, we put melody, lyrics and tension at the centre of songs that move from dreamy and ethereal to heavy and unpredictable. Rather than disappearing into walls of sound, we're interested in contrast: sweetness against abrasion, intimacy against alienation, and moments of stillness that can suddenly turn into noise.

We're Isadora (vocals/guitar), Luca (guitar), Luci (bass) and Huw (drums), and we formed Mannequin Flowers in early 2024. Isadora, who is Brazilian, writes from both intimate and political angles, moving from the guilt of not loving someone back, validation, drinking culture and anxiety to capitalism's impact on art, society and the environment. Her intense, almost trance-like stage presence has also become a defining part of our live shows.

Our releases have received support from EARMILK, The Big Takeover, Obscure Sound, Amazing Radio, Broken 8 Records and Get In Her Ears. EARMILK described our music as "an emotional journey," adding that it feels "as if the music is trying to understand what it means to be human."

Our upcoming material pushes this further, bringing heavier basslines, sharper post-punk influences and less conventional structures into our dreamier foundations. Three new tracks begin arriving from October 2026.

"Heartbeat is an emotional journey that dives deep into feelings, exploring vulnerability and strength, as if the music is trying to understand what it means to be human."

— EarMilk

"Their music evokes a sense of danger and unpredictability, while their lyrics challenge conventional narratives with quirky, thought-provoking content."
